A New Chapter Begins for Warren’s Holiday Swimming Pool

For more than 60 years, the City of Warren Holiday Swimming Pool has been more than just a place to cool off—it has been a cornerstone of our community. It’s where generations of children learned to swim, families gathered on sunny afternoons, birthday parties were celebrated, and lifelong summer memories were made.

Now, one of Warren’s most treasured community landmarks is getting the investment it deserves.

Renovation Work is Officially Underway

To allow construction to begin as soon as possible, the City made the difficult decision to close the pool early on July 26. While we know many families look forward to every last day of the swimming season, starting work now gives contractors the time they need to prepare the site and keeps the project on track for a normal opening next summer.

Although ending the season a little early is disappointing, it puts us in the best position to welcome everyone back to a safer, stronger, and modernized facility in 2027.

More Than a Fresh Coat of Paint

After serving the community for more than six decades, many of the pool’s original systems have reached the end of their useful life. This renovation is a comprehensive investment designed to improve safety, efficiency, reliability, and the long-term future of the facility.

Major improvements include:

• Sandblasting and applying new epoxy finishes to both the main pool and wading pool.
• Repairing deteriorated bond beams.
• Replacing the concrete pool edges with new, durable concrete.
• Repairing structural cracks through urethane injection where needed.
• Installing new underground plumbing, return inlets, and skimmers.
• Adding dual main drains that meet today’s safety standards.
• Replacing aging filtration equipment with modern, energy-efficient systems.
• Completing additional infrastructure upgrades to extend the life of the facility for decades to come.

These improvements will help ensure that Holiday Swimming Pool continues serving Warren families safely and efficiently for many years.
