New website, new era of communication

Over time, things change. And in the digital world, this rate of change feels exponentially fast.

The City of Warren’s previous website had been lost in this cycle of rapid change, and a re-vamp was long overdue. Incorporating the framework of the old, outdated website into today’s image-heavy, media-driven online communication space was difficult, and things were getting lost in the ever-growing list of things to do. Updates on city events were no longer feasible on the site, and aside from effectively listing some helpful links, contact points, and the city’s meeting minutes and agendas, using the website as a communication tool became too difficult.

We decided it was time for a change, and that change is here, now.

Although the website on which you’re reading this post is new to the city, users of current, modern websites, will find the design familiar.

We encourage all users to click around and explore the new website. A few quick highlights of the new site are:

• An events page listing upcoming events and details
• A notification bar at the top of each page rotating through a few bits of pertinent information
• A blog section with articles and updates about life around town

There are also enhanced and re-catorgorized pages regarding things to do around town, care and health services, job listings, city employee contact information, meeting agendas, and so forth.

Although much time was taken to redesign and recategorize the information in this new site, there will undoubtedly be a need for additions, changes, and edits – especially with regard to what you, the citizens of Warren, need to make the site a useful stop in your routine while living in this beautiful area that we’re fortunate to call home. If you have an idea, feedback, or something you’d like added to the site, please let us know via email.

We will continue to update our social media accounts, to which you can find links at the top and bottom of each page on this website. The intention, however, is to use social as a notification system, with the full details of whatever we’re posting about being listed on this website.
